Description:

Poor, sweet Wispa was found in the woods on a path by a friend of our vet. Wispa was extremely thin but also heavily pregnant. One of her eyes was also missing. She was bought to our vet just in time as she gave birth to 6 pups (2 girls and 4 boys) the following morning. Wispa is now in foster in the UK and this is what Wispa’s foster Mummy has to say about her:

Wispa needs a caring home with understanding parents. Wispa can get startled by males with caps, and occasionally after waking up. The barks and mini-growls are harmless though, and Wispa just needs a bit of reassurance and confidence. The perfect parent needs to be mindful that one eye is sewn shut, so be considerate when approaching the blind side. Wispa AKA shadow dog, loves to follow you around, and finds it the absolute best when she can sit by your side or lay by your feet. Wispa loves walking and sniffing, and is excited just by being with you. Her tail wags constantly and is an absolute pleasure to have in the house. She eats well, she’s house trained, she’s very domesticated with a huge heart. She gets on well with our resident dog but is slightly triggered by our cat, so some work would need to be done on this, if you have a cat. An active home would be great, with someone who has the time to spend with Wispa. Whilst she sleeps great in the crate at night, we’re not sure how well she would cope alone as we haven’t done this yet and has whimpered sometimes if we’ve tested being in another room. Wispa is kind, gentle, outgoing, unfazed by anything really, and is the ultimate snorer that we adore.

Thank you for your interest in Wispa. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them.  When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs.  Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive.  For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment?  Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home?  Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog?  Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you?  Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.

We’d love to chat…
