Description:
Luca is an impressive and strikingly handsome large-sized dog with beautiful, unique markings that make him truly one of a kind. But it’s not just his looks that set him apart—Luca’s heart is as big as his frame, and he’s overflowing with love to give. This affectionate boy craves attention and enjoys human connection. He adores a good fuss and will happily soak up all the love you have to offer. He takes treats gently from your hand, showing just how sweet and well-behaved he is.
His dream is to find a peaceful rural or semi-rural home, preferably with another calm, friendly dog for companionship and to build his trust, complete with direct access to a secure garden laid to lawn where he can roam, relax, and feel the freedom he’s never truly known. Luca has started to learn how to walk on a lead, and his new family will need to continue this training to help him improve.
Luca’s dream family will be one that surrounds him with patience, love, and gentle guidance as he adapts to life in a home. Having spent his whole life in a kennel, he needs a family who understands that this transition is a big step for him. With their support, Luca will learn to trust, settle, and embrace the happiness of being a cherished part of a family.
Luca and his sisters, Freya and Maya, were heartlessly thrown away, left to face a tragic fate in a bin. Their fragile lives were almost lost, abandoned and unseen. But in the darkness of their story, a kind hearted hero stepped forward—a saviour who refused to let their tiny lights be extinguished. Through this act of compassion, Luca and his siblings were saved and given a precious second chance at life.
Now, Luca waits patiently in the kennels at our shelter, Happy’s, holding on to the hope that his next miracle will soon come—a loving family to make him their own and give him the forever home he dreams of.
Thank you for your interest in Luca. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.
As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.
