Here at 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK, we are always looking for ways to generate donations, be it monetary or otherwise, so that we can carry on rescuing dogs in Romania and find them loving homes in the UK.  

In these recent times, with the global pandemic of Covid 19, and now a potential recession, it has been particularly difficult to raise funds and a lot of us are being a lot more careful with money these days. So, therefore, we are incredibly proud to be in a charitable partnership with Bradshaw’s Natural Selections Dog Food. Their concept is that every time you buy a bag of their dog food, they will donate a bag of dog food to the charity of your choice. 

Here, one of the Bradshaws team explains all about how the charitable partnership works.

What is in the cost of your dog food?

When choosing food for our dog, we all consider the ingredients, the ease of purchasing the food, the cost of the product and maybe the ethics of the company you are buying from.

At Bradshaw’s, all of those factors are a top priority for us too. Our ingredients are all natural and sustainable, grown or raised in the UK and full of goodness. Our online shop is easy to use, streamlined for quick across to checkout and has the added security of using PayPal for full traceability.

Our costs are low; we have no fancy packaging, TV advertising campaign or no retailer adding a bit for themselves – all of which are added to the price you pay. The price you pay for Bradshaw’s is for the food and for a bag for the animal shelter or rescue centre of your choosing.  

Then we have the ethics of our company. Many, if not most, of the dog food manufacturers and suppliers throughout the UK understand that they have a corporate social responsibility, to give something back. Many will give a proportion of the profits donated to worthy charities throughout the UK. 

At Bradshaw’s, we have streamlined our practices that much that we are able to give 100% of the profits to our supported charities. Yes, 100%. We have no board of directors to please with yearly dividend cheques or no advertising schedule that increases year on year to cope with this growing market.

Donations arrive at Happys

Here at 1 Dog, we are really grateful for all the help and support we get. It really does make a huge difference to our dogs out in Romania, to receive bags of dog food.  Just recently, we had a delivery to our shelter, Happy Tails, of things such as donated blankets, leads, harnesses and beds. Amongst this delivery were 15 large bags of Bradshaw’s dog food – just an incredible amount donated by the good people at Bradshaw’s, because our supporters have bought their dog food. So thank you very much to everyone who supports us.
