Description:

Bodhi is a sweet lovely boy. He is house trained and walks well on a lead. He can be left for 4 hours at a time and lives with 2 cats

He needs some time when meeting new people and will take a while to trust.

He was originally found in the Romanian mountains and had a large cut on his neck that needed treatment. His thick fluffy fur covers the scar all up now but when he has cuddles you can still feel it. He needs an adult only home without too many visitors. He will need time to get to trust his new owners.

Below is a write up from Bodhi now:

I’ve lived with my mummy and daddy for 2 1/2 years and in many ways I’ve been a very good boy! I’m house trained and very rarely have an accident inside. I don’t bark much, only if someone knocks on the door but I quickly calm down. I don’t chew things although sometimes appreciate a shoe to sniff. I live with 2 cats, one of them is cool and she’s my friend. The other one… he’s not cool and so I sometimes chase him away. I also like most dogs that I meet when I’m out and about! I have a friend who I can play outside with for hours but I’m not sure if I would cope sharing my owners at home. Walks are the highlight of my day and I walk very well on a lead. I’m a bit excited for the first few minutes but I quickly calm down and start my routine sniffs and investigations. I used to be very nervous when out and about with cyclists, joggers or strangers and I used to jump up. I don’t do this anymore because I know I get a treat now if someone comes too close. This helps me keep calm and I know my owners won’t let anyone touch me or come into my personal space. I love nothing more than curling up on the sofa with my owners and being stroked. I occasionally like to play tug and I especially love puzzles that involve treats. I really appreciate peace and quiet and that is why I need a new home as I’m finding living with a toddler stressful. I hope there is someone out there who can give me the calmness and stability I need in order to learn to trust people again.

Thank you for your interest in Bodhi. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them.  When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs.  Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive.  For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment?  Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home?  Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog?  Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you?  Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.

We’d love to chat…
